Podcast: From Hall to All
From Hall to All is a podcast produced through SHU TV and WSOU in collaboration with the social work department. It explores modern developments in the field of social work across different industries and applications. From Hall to all is inspired by the interdisciplinary nature of Seton Hall’s curriculum and the evolution of the social work profession, as well as its tools and utilization of technology.
Episode One: Exploring Social Work in Competitive Sports and Sports Media
Host Alli Joseph, MSW Candidate, 2025, sits down with B.J. Schecter, Executive Director, Center for Sports Media at Seton Hall, Seton Hall alum Dr. Peter Economou, a leading sports psychologist, and Shayne Simmons, a graduate MPA Candidate and student athlete, to discuss how social work has evolved in the competitive sports and sports media worlds.
Episode Two: Dr. Juan Rios Explores the Future of Social Work
There are some common misconceptions about the field of social work, and the profession can seem archaic to the outsider. Boring. Old-fashioned and stodgy. But here’s the thing: the need for social work and the many areas of the industry it secretly inhabits and supports is greater now than ever. Research, policy, and mental health support innovations constantly challenge outmoded notions of the profession and what social workers "do" every day.

A wise person once said, “Look for the helper in the room.” From Hall to All features half-hour conversational interviews about this helping profession, and how the interstices of AI, machine learning, remote support, government, business, human resources, DEI, the church, faith, entertainment, and more afford it a place in the “New World” of Seton Hall. We are showcasing interdisciplinary learning, educating, and ultimately, inspiring leadership at its best.
